Pure Land Farms Topanga, California is the headquarters of the Sowa Rigpa Institute.
Named after Tanaduk (Tibetan ལྟ་ན་སྡུག།), the Pure Land of the Medicine Buddha, Pure Land Farms is a ten acre rural sanctuary located in Topanga, on the edge of Los Angeles. A true healing oasis within a bustling vibrant city, it is a place to retreat and restore, to learn and connect. Our center is home of:
Yuthok Ling Temple, the first Buddhist temple in the West dedicated to the practice of the Yuthok Nyingthig spiritual tradition. In the spirit of Yuthok Yönten Gönpo, the father of Tibetan Medicine and great non-sectarian teacher, we welcome students and practitioners of all lineages!
Tanaduk Gardens, a botanical educational garden of medicinal herbs used in the Tibetan materia medica designed according to the geometric principles of Medicine Buddha’s Pure Land as described in Tibet’s traditional medical texts, the Gyudzhi.
Sowa Rigpa Wellness Center, a healing space where participants in our retreats and the local community can experience the unique healing therapies of Sowa Rigpa. Online consultations also available.
Mongolian Yurts, the traditional nomadic homes of Mongolia for personal retreat or small group meditation practices.
Pure Land Farms also offer diverse programming in the fields of music, traditional arts and culture through Yangchenma Arts & Music.
